If you don’t know your options, you don’t have any
Writing a birth plan, or outlining your wishes is a useful way to prepare for the birth of your baby. We all know that birth sometimes doesn’t go the way we hope it will, but that doesn’t mean that working through your wishes and writing them down isn’t a useful exercise. In fact, it is a great way to help you to understand the options available to you, so that if things take another direction, you will feel confident, prepared and able to make informed decisions about your care more easily. There is one thing that is true in birth – there is usually time to consider what is right for you and your family.
What is included:
- My comprehensive birth plan template (created from years of experience of helping families write birth plans and my understanding of birthing within and without the system)
- My list of top resources for new parents, including Factsheets that will help you to prepare for the birth of your baby
- An exploration of your wishes and an excavation of some of your fears around birth
- A look at alternative pathways – what happens if birth doesn’t go to ‘plan?’
- A guide to comfort measures that are available to you, both natural and synthetic
Tea, coffee and sweet treats will be provided and we will finish the workshop with a simple mother blessing ritual.
The session can be in the comfort of your own home, or I can host a small group from my home near to Wadebridge.
